Geoffrey Rosenthal, MD
Geoffrey L. Rosenthal, MD, PhD, a nationally-known pediatric cardiologist, is professor of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Rosenthal is the Co-Director of the Children's Heart Program at the University of Maryland Children's Hospital.
Dr. Rosenthal came to the University of Maryland from the Cleveland Clinic in July 2009. At Cleveland Clinic, he served as Director of Inpatient Medicine for Pediatric Cardiovascular Services and Director of Pediatric Cardiovascular Research.
Dr. Rosenthal serves on the Executive Committee for the Section of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a founding member and current task force member of the National Pediatric Cardiology Quality Improvement Collaborative of the Joint Council on Congenital Heart Disease. Dr. Rosenthal is also a member of the National Program to Reduce Cardiovascular Risk Coordinating Committee of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, representing the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Rosenthal served as the Chair of the Pediatric Advisory Committee to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration until 2012 and has been a member since 2007. Dr. Rosenthal also served as the Co-Chair of the Congenital Heart Public Health Consortium and the Co-Chair of the Quality Metrics Working Group of the American College of Cardiology until 2014.
